Mission of West Zuidwest

 

West Zuidwest is the industrial design company of Wout Zweers

 

West Zuidwest started in 2010 and uses the 20 year long working experience, practical experience and backgroynd knowledge of materials and constructions and knowledge of how to forge an idea into a working product.

 

WestZuidwest aims at designing products that use the material and construction optimally. Not only the technical function but also the usability, maintenance, material choise and manufacturing of the product is part of the design.

 

West Zuidwest uses simple but effective means:

  • Analysis (artistic as well as mechanical and manufacturing)
  • Models, mock ups (foam, wood, metal, eventually 3D printing and -milling),
  • 2D design sketches, art drawings
  • 3D visualisation and technical drawings (solidworks or rhino)
  • Some items can be made in the own studio such as models, woodwork and welded products.

 

West Zuidwest can translate your ideas into technically feasible plans and will give you technical or artistical support you need. If necessary experts that solve special problems can be involved.

 

  

 

 

Present work:

  • Designing a support construction for a light sculpture by Kunst- en techniekwerk and Ecco Luce.
  • Building a low cost cooled cel for scientific experiments

 

A couple of promising projects in different fases of development:

  • Led lighting for agricultural purposes
  • Camera for crowd safety support.
  • The new office: lighting with LED
  • Welding torch with ergonomical improvements.
